Senior Data Scientist Energy Forecasting
What will you be doing at Kenter Groendus?
As a Data Scientist at Kenter and Groendus, you will be part of the forecasting & optimization department. This team focuses on expanding our forecasting platform, developing control algorithms, and creating trading strategies at both asset and portfolio level.
You will be working on:

Implementing improvements to our current predictive models.

Writing production‑level code.

Shaping the vision for further development of our forecasting platform and integrating forecasting into control processes.

Contributing to the optimization of portfolio decisions, such as minimizing imbalance.

Guiding and mentoring junior colleagues.

What do we offer you?
Kenter and Groendus form a stable and established energy partner with around 800 colleagues and locations across the Netherlands. This position is based at our Utrecht office in Central Park, just a one‑minute walk from Utrecht Central Station. In addition, we offer:

A salary between €4234,- and €5869,- gross per month (incl. labour market allowance) based on full‑time employment, depending on experience and expertise

A contract of 32 to 40 hours per week

What do you bring?
-
Academic working and thinking level (Master’s level).
-
Experience with forecasting and time series.
-
6 years of experience as a Data Scientist, including at least 1 year in a commercial environment.
-
Experience with, or affinity for, the energy sector is a strong plus.

Proven knowledge of Python and SQL; experience with data visualization in Power BI is a plus.

Experience in developing and maintaining a CI/CD pipeline.

Knowledge of Azure and Databricks is a plus.
-
Based in the Netherlands with eligibility to work in the EU.
